Immunity Smoothie

Recipe inspiration using some of our weekly sale items! Try this Immunity Smoothie using bananas, (always 65 cents a pound), avocado (6 packs are on for $3.97), parsley ($1 a bunch), lemon (2 for $1) and blackberries (3 for $5 or $1.97 each)!

Recipe:
1 to 2 ripe bananas, frozen
1/2 ripe avocado
1 small handful of parsley
juice of ½ a lemon
½ to 1 cup blackberries
1 ½ cups water

A bit of information about the ingredients:
Lemons and blackberries are great sources of vitamin C; vitamin C supports the immune system and helps repairs all our body tissues. Parsley contains vitamin K and phytonutrients that can kill harmful bacteria. Bananas are a rich source of minerals and they help the body digest food so that nutrients can be absorbed. Avocados are a source of healthy fat; fats are needed to help the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins (vitamin A, D, E and K).
